concrete contamination

due to the rejuvenation of buildings, extensions to property and the simply proximity of buildings to each other, it is only natural that the building dust, concrete and other building materials will contaminate near by cars and vehicles. these acidents do happen, but without specialist help and the precise care of the risks to the paintwork and the damage that can be caused by unprofessional, inexperienced or just poor workmanship is tremendous. if these poor attempts are made, this makes the removal of the initial issue and the new damage more difficult and costly. we can not recommend enough, not to proceed with any attempts to remove the issue before seeking advice. as all our staff have been trained by autoglym (certified by autoglym), they are perfectly qualified to rectify your issues. we also deal with marked paintwork as well as rough or contaminated paintwork. we only use the finest products, from 3m, autoglym and other fine rejuvenation products.

with concrete, building dust contamination or rough paint work, we can use a variety of processes depending upon the extent, timed lapse of coverage and the areas covered (such as only windows, plastics or rubbers). we have at our disposal tfr baths, acid baths, clay bars, paint contamination products and more.

our stages..

we use three to four stages here to cleanse the paint. the first stage involves the use of various total car baths, that remove the light contamination, such as building dust and in some circumstances water contamination that has been caused by the mixture of building dust and rain (or car washing) and light surface issues. this ensures that the dust and harder contaminants do not scratch or cause harm to the bodywork. once these have been carried out the vehicle is prepared for stage two. stage two involves the application of acid to remove the concrete or more stubborn contaminants. this is by far, the best method to use to remove issues such as concrete as, this process dissolves and breaks down the concrete and similar issues, rather than the 'scrubbing' that is often carried out by the inexperienced, which simply aggressively rubs the hard surfaces of grit, stones, sand and similar against very soft paintwork, thus causing scratches. this process of disintegration is carried out multiple times if needs be, to incrementally strengthen the 'dosage' of acid and so accelerate the breakdown of the concrete or ingrained dust issue. these multiple stages ensure that the vast majority of the contamination is removed and so allowing us to proceed to step three, if needs be. step three is only carried out if ultimately necessary and utilises an autoglym clay bar to remove the contamination from those areas either not responsive the the baths, or not able to be covered by the acid. clay bars can also be used to remove the contaminants from glass and screens, with of course, the utmost care to still not scratch. step four is the finalisation stage and involves the liquid cleansing and polishing of the bodywork to remove any remnants of products we have used and restore the shine and lustre of the paintwork it once had. these steps have the multiple advantages of not only removing the issue in the first instance, but also enhancing the paintwork further and restoring and look and feel that any car owner would be thrilled with. we can also carry out a number of optional extras, depending upon the circumstances including applying autoglym's new ultra high definition wax (explained here) to your paintwork or paint enhancement (explained here) or of course we can also (as an extra cost option) apply a generous coating of autoglym's ceramic paint sealant. this service alone should take one person, in addition to any other exterior service, between 3 - 6 hours.
